On 26th March 2009, today, the GOBO10 was officially installed. And launched into space!
The unveiling of GOBO10 was carried out in a somewhat insignificant unveiling ceremony in Guide Room, Second Level, Nanyang Girls' High. Three members were absent but the ceremony was still carried out. We have two words for the absentees. Too bad. (lol!)
The GOBO10 is the new name for the PGA-ers (at least until we get a cooler name). It stands for Government of Burnable Objects Number 10. Burnable Objects equates to firelighting while number 10 equates to the number of people in our Cabinet. It currently comprises of several departments.
1. MOP: Ministry of POWER. Current representatives are June and Huijun. MOP's main duty is to break large twigs into shorter pieces while showing the immense power and strength of the individual MOP official simultaneously.
2. MOST: Ministry of Small Twigs. MOST's main duty is to select small twigs from countless bags of randomly packed twigs and pack them into boxes neatly.
3. MOMT: Ministry of Medium Twigs. Similar to MOST, except that MOMT deals with medium twigs.
4. MOLT: Ministry of Large Twigs. Similar to MOST and MOMT, except that MOLT deals with large twigs.
5. MOPoks: Ministry of Pokers. Liaises with MOLT to get large twigs that are potential pokers. Currently a sub-department under MOLT.
6. MOPu: Ministry of Punk. Sorts punk into three categories, namely Palm Leaves, Casuarina Product That Has No Known Name Yet, and Leaves That Are Also Known As Potato Chips (refer to previous notice about punk advert).
7. MODO: Ministry of Discardable Objects. Main representatives are Sarah and Aging Broom. Removes Discardable Objects and Aborted Projects such as Mouldy Twigs That Look Nonburnable, Twigs With Dubious-Looking White Fluff, Mysteriously Wet Punk, etc etc.
8. MOSS: Ministry of SuperSpars: Main representatives are MOP officials, because "super"and "power" just goes together naturally. SuperSpars are abnormally thick large twigs that are similar to spars in terms of width. The upcoming project for MOSS will be sawing, where SuperSpars will be physically modified so as to suit various new projects such as Support Wood Project (SWoP).
MOST, MOMT, MOLT, MOPoks, and MOPu do not have any fixed representatives currently. We believe in mobility of personnel, just as we believe in the rights to shuffle. A special event has happened today, and successfully etched the unveiling ceremony as well as the rights to shuffle in the hearts of all present.
The event organiser (who also happened to be the main participant) was Ms Wanda Ong ** **. A conflict arose between Ms Hiu Yan and Ms Wanda Ong regarding the shuffling of feet. Ms Hiu firmly believes that one should not shuffle, but Ms Wanda insists that shuffling is perfectly acceptable when the shoes are too big for the feet. As Ms Wanda put it (simply), "I have the rights to shuffle!" Ms Wanda then proceeded to prove her point by forcefully throwing out her foot. The point was further emphasised on when her too-big shoe flew off her foot and landed in the doorway of the hall's backstage. The next few moments were spent in embarrassment (as Ms Wanda scrambled to retrieve her shoe) and excruciating torture for the other three eyewitnesses (June Xiaozhen, Hiu, and Suat) as they laughed, clutching their stomachs in pain and rolling about against the wall/water cooler.
The GOBO10 and Special Event ended fruitfully, with a neater guide store corridor, more beautiful memories, and a new institution. We thank all who participated.

okay this is a post about saturday's pga training. the main point is THE NEW SAWS.
ohmygod you'll really have to use them to know how it feels. we were sawing spars and okay the spars were smoother and didn't give us splinters, but seriously, new saws make a HUGE difference. we jst had to make a mark, and then start sawing up and down immediately. don't have to keep running the saw backwards, don't have to wrestle with the saw and wood, don't have to wrench stuck saws out of the wood, don't have to use that much strength, and don't have to use that much time either. smooth and sweet. oh god... the wonders of brand new saws. it's like driving an old beat-up car that groans and moans in pain each time you start the ignition, and then suddenly switching to some sports car which just revs up to like, i dunno a few hundred km/h in a few seconds.
lol and rayna and amanda couldn't control themselves too. seriously, sawing with brand-new saws is such bliss. rayna was coveting the saws hungrily. hahaha. omg i hope she doesn't see this.
okay anw, for pga-ers who missed it, u seriously didn't miss much, except for the experience of using brand new saws.
and acs(i) gangshow was quite high at first, then later a bit dry. mainly cos of the audience la. lol the barker scouts were... totally zi-highing but tt's not the main point. the main point is, their skit (esp act 2) was super funny. this boy who looked indian was playing a doctor, and his accent was super funny. and the way he has spasms is so real!!!! lol he's just a natural comedian la.
and the breakdancing was quite good too. breakdancing can't be described u'll hv to watch it for yourself. but it's the best dance item out of the whole performance.
and i'm quite jealous of acs ppl. the place where they camp is so beautiful!!! it's this little clearing in the middle of a garden in the middle of the school!!!! it's so scenic!!!! and where do we camp? sigh....
ok shall stop grousing. LTC'09 tmr!!! actually i think the jnrs quite good. ok at least they managed to rush the whole thing out even after such short notice. and i seriously hope we get to do sentry duty!!!!

anyways, do you guys (those taking pga) have aching bodies after training? cos i woke up on sunday (it's monday already) practically unable to sit up without wincing in pain. ohman. if this is how i'm gonna feel every sunday, then ... (i dun feel like typing in the dot dot dots)
On a happier (or maybe sadder) note, GRACES is coming in like TWO days time. THREE more days to seeing the whole new GLAM and FAB (and maybe awkward) batchmates! Can't wait! :D
